About Us

it’s all about…

The Honor Choir is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Bastrop, Texas dedicated to healing the human spirit through music, empathy, and community. The members of our choir have all been selected by displaying a high level of empathy and human understanding.

We believe that nurturing these gifts in the members of our choir has a ripple effect of healing for our community. Through song and service, we have the power to bring hope and light into the lives of those who need it the most.

Founded by Bill Owens in 2009, The Honor Choir's first priority is to support the efforts of Children’s Advocacy Center in their mission to prevent child abuse.

Our guiding song “We Sing for the Children” by Mary Lynn Lightfoot has become the name of the April Event held at the Bastrop County Courthouse. We perform annually at over a dozen community events and also by special invitation.

We also have a smaller choir, FAITH that performs at several local churches and with The Honor Choir.

The Honor Choir is named for two reasons. First, we honor the lives of children who may have been abused. Second, we honor the lives of the singers: people of peace, generosity, and caring.

The way we can accomplish our mission is through the generosity and contributions of our community.

The future of our community relies on the continued efforts of kind souls to help the youth succeed and know that they have someone who will be there when they need it most. The members of our choir are those who share their light and service without hesitation. The Honor Choir provides a structure in which those gifts can be concentrated.

Your kind donations are an investment toward the bright future of our community.
